Sand Mountain Nevada Dune Guide is an independent planning resource. It is not the Bureau of Land Management, the State of Nevada, or any other government agency.
Weather, closures, routes, fees, services, and regulations can all change without notice, sometimes between when a page is written and when you read it. Treat everything here as a starting point that needs confirming close to your departure.
Where anything on this site differs from the responsible agency's current information, the agency is right and this site is wrong. For Sand Mountain that means BLM for the recreation area and passes, the State of Nevada for OHV registration, and Nevada DOT for the highway.
You remain responsible for your route, your equipment, your skills, your group, and your decisions. Nothing here is a promise that a route is safe, open, legal, or suitable for your machine on the day you ride it.
If something here is wrong, say so and point at a current responsible source. Documented corrections get made. This guide is better for being checked.
